This summer, Erica Hoida spent her vacation enjoying the beautiful views of Maui. When planning her vacation style, she chose something neutral and flowing that could be easily accessorized. To add some interest to her style, she layered her favorite LAGOS looks.
“My favorite part of wearing multiple pieces at once is that it reflects a person’s personality. I went bold and let my jewelry be the highlight of my look.”
We love Erica’s chic beach look and would love to see how you’re styling your favorite LAGOS styles for the summer. Show off your travel style by tagging your photos on Instagram with #loveLAGOS.

Each season, designer and founder Steven Lagos finds new inspiration for his designs.
“Travel is a constant source of inspiration. When I’m on a plane is one of the only times I disconnect, it’s a meditation time for me.”
This theme was evident this season in two of our newest pendants; the Signature Caviar plane pendant and our Signature Caviar compass.
“The compass was fun to design. I liked the idea of having something that was functional. I think it leads to the idea of travel and adventure.”
In addition to these designs, our newest gemstone styles evoked a sense of escape as well. In our Maya collection, we added a new gem to our assortment: Chrysocolla.
“I’m always searching for gemstones that take people to a different place. Chrysocolla is one of those gems. It’s a beautiful turquoise blue stone that creates almost a water effect. It looks like islands floating in the water, like a scene from an airplane window.”

Like most of us, Kim from Eat Sleep Wear is spending her summer daydreaming about her next getaway. Currently a resident of Southern California, Kim is taking advantage of the area and taking quick weekend trips to beautiful nearby destinations like Malibu.
Kim was inspired by our latest summer-worthy styles and can’t wait to pack them for her next trip. She shares her style tips: “I love to take the opportunity to add a pop of color when it comes to my jewels. These styles remind me of the coast and fit perfectly with my coastal lifestyle! The shades of blues remind me of the ocean.”
Kim recommends pairing these brighter looks (like our turquoise Caviar Icon and Lapis Maya styles) with crisp, neutral outfits. When packing for summer travel, it’s easiest to choose lightweight styles that don’t wrinkle easily and can be worn for several occasions!
Using her classic white dress as a blank canvas, she adds texture to her look with our sterling silver bracelets and bright, bold gemstones.
“Having the right accessories for a simple look can really elevate your style easily for a summer trip. Effortless style is key when you are on the go!”
We absolutely agree! Where are you headed this summer? Show off your travel style by tagging your photos on Instagram with #loveLAGOS so we can admire your look.

Deep and mysterious, black gemstones offer stunning contrast to both daytime and evening looks. Like white gems, black stones make for the perfect neutral. Although black spinel, hematite, onyx and black spinel all possess a similar appearance, each of these gemstones stones carry unique properties.
The original inspiration for Caviar, Hematite occurs naturally in a black-silver color. The Caviar Icon collection (necklace, earrings and bracelet pictured above) features a hematite stone for a sparkling, lustrous effect. This gem is worn to protect against negativity. Dark stones like hematite have protective energies in the sense that black is the absence of light, and therefore, can be used to promote independence. Hematite is a type of chalcedony quartz that can be found across the world from Brazil to India, or California to Uruguay.
Black spinel comes in large variety of hues including: red, blue, green, yellow, brown and black. Unlike black diamonds or black sapphires, black spinel does not possess a metallic luster and is completely opaque. The spinel used in our Statement Rings and Nightfall collection is authentic, natural spinel.
Black agate and black onyx are often used interchangeably; however, onyx is a type of agate with alternating bands of color. While agate comes in many hues, when it occurs in black and white layers, the stone is typically referred to as onyx. Black agate and onyx is present in additions to the Enso and Maya collections.
Black gemstones, like your favorite LBD, make for a chic, go-to accessory no matter the season or the occasion. Discover more of the black jewelry designs in these best-selling collections and

Sun, sand, and the perfect pieces of jewelry. What makes up your dream vacation? Emily Jackson of Ivory Lane shares some of her favorite pictures of her trip to the Monterey, California. Emily styled her favorite gemstone pieces from our Maya and White Caviar collections.
To evoke a sense of serenity and channel the calmness of the beach, Emily wore her jewelry with an ethereal white lace dress. This light and airy look makes her accessories stand out.
Emily’s v-neck dress provided the perfect frame for this bold Maya teardrop pendant necklace. To match, she paired it with a turquoise statement ring from our Maya collection as well as a dainty stacking ring.
To create the perfect stack, mixing and matching is key. This chic stack is made up of our Maya Caviar Bracelet in both Turquoise and Howlite (blue and white is our favorite color combo of the summer!). To add some extra interest, Emily added our White Caviar bracelet (a staple for every season!) as well as a Maya bangle.
Regarding her style, Emily told us “I sincerely believe that it’s ‘all in the details’ and with details like these, I know I’ll feel confident no matter what I’m wearing!”

The sparkle of a diamond can captivate the eye like nothing else. But no two diamonds are the same, and a number of factors go into separating one from the next. The four C’s are the official basis for grading the significance of a particular diamond. But what exactly does this mean? Here is a guide to understanding diamonds:
Cut: The cut of a diamond refers to the proportion or shape of the stone. The cut of the diamond’s facets allow the maximum amount of light that enters through its top to be reflected and dispersed, which offers the greatest luminescence. LAGOS designs use round brilliant cut diamonds, each featuring 58 facets to maximize brilliance.
Color: Diamonds are valued by how closely they approach colorlessness – the less color; the higher the value as a totally colorless diamond allows light and luminosity to pass through it easily. The differences from one grade to the other are very subtle and are graded from D, totally colorless, to Z, the appearance of color. LAGOS diamonds feature a near perfect G-H color.
Clarity: Clarity is determined by the amount and location of flaws in the diamond. Clarity grades are rated from Flawless to Imperfect. Most diamonds contain very tiny marks known as “inclusions.” The fewer the inclusions, the more beautiful the diamond will be. LAGOS diamonds feature near-perfect SI clarity.
Carat: The weight of a diamond is measured in carats. As the carat weight of a diamond increases, so does its rarity and therefore its price.
LAGOS uses bezel-set, channel-set and pavé diamonds in our designs with the top grade, GH-SI diamonds.
