In 1976 Ann King graduated from the Philadelphia
College of Art with a BFA degree in jewelry and metalworking. Working
from her studio apartment, she catered to personal clients and began
developing a look of her own. In 1981 she founded Ann King Design. At a craft fair in Baltimore in 1982, Ann King caught the eye of Mort Abelson, director of the New York Jewelry Show. A year later Ann King Design was featured in the "new designer room" at the Jewelers of America (JA) International Jewelry Show in New York City. Her distinctive jewelry was a hit and was soon featured in many fine jewelry retailers across the country. This event would impact her life forever – it was there that she first met jewelry designer Steven Lagos, who later became her husband. She decided to focus with Steven on a singular vision – the LAGOS jewelry brand, and for the past fifteen years she has been a design force at LAGOS. She expands her design endeavors with Ann King Sterling & 18K Gold Jewelry, a luxurious collection inspired by nature and architecture, created especially for QVC. |
